Contrary to what many may think, it is not the number of times stabbed that hurts the most. Rather, it's the place where the stabbing occurs. Twice on the exact same spot probably hurt much more than 5 stabs over the body.
The first time you are stabbed, the pain come mostly as a shock & just when you are overcoming the physical pain, the second one comes - at the same spot. The old wound reopens & this time, the stab is deeper because the path through had already been paved the first time. It's no longer ouch! but ouchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..
Now this is the amazing part: unless you are sleeping or unconscious, no one can actually made that hurtful 2nd stab without your consent. Hard to believe? Think again.
Our natural reaction when someone strikes at us is to defend or to retaliate. Even if we fail to pre-empt the first time, we will automatically protect the wounded part & the surrounding area just in case there's a second attempt. However, we are absolutely defenceless against the people dearest to us because no matter how many times they hurt us, we will still welcome them back with open arms. That is why only they can make that 2nd stab (or even 3rd/4th/5th...) while the others can hurt us on the outside, but not the inside.
it's okay if you can't see the road ahead, just make sure God is still in sight!!
In His time, in His time,
He makes all things beautful in His time.
Lord, please show me every day,
As You're teaching me Your way,
That You do just what You say, in Your time.
In Your time, in Your time,
You make all things beautiful in Your time.
Lord, my life to You I bring.
May each song I have to sing
Be to You a lovely thing, in Your time.
