hypothetical questions
"If ___ & I both fell in the sea at the same time, who would you save first?"

I find such questions rather stupid (followed by questions like how are you?/ How have you been?)
There's no point in asking. Seriously, what kind of answers are you expecting? The answer will be either clear or ambiguous.

It's like.. .. ..

The illustration:
1st scenario.
Chelsea asking me "Which team would you support in a Chelsea vs Sheffield Wednesday match?"

[backdrop: I had supported Sheffield W. in my early days (of watching soccer) mainly because of the name. (ps: I do have a fetish for names. They are really important.) I believe if they didn't drop 2 divisions down immediately & I never saw them in top flight again, I would still be supporting them.

Chelsea is my favourite team. period.]

The answer is pretty obvious, right?
because supporting doesn't mean favourite. I believe every one of you out there will support Singapore when they are playing. However, they aren't necessary your favourite. YES! you finally got the point.

Sometimes, people asked hypothetical questions just to reassure themselves what they already know. However, if Sheffield W. ask me about it.. well, they are asking for it.

2nd scenario.
Chelsea asking me "Which team would you support in a Chelsea vs England match?"
One is my favourite club, the other my favourite country. Ya, they will never play against each other (it's technically impossible) & both are on different playing fields.

However, most hypotheical questions centred around these kinda choices. By asking, you are only trying to force the answer that you desired out of that person.

I can humour Chelsea and say I will support them when they ask and England if England ask. Or I can shrug it off with things like: You both are never going to play against each other. Which team will Terry, Cole & Lampard play for? blah blah..

BUT what I really will do is not to answer at all. I can't and won't answer something that hasn't happen and unless driven to the corner, I myself will never know the answer too.

*Just a random thought*

it's okay if you can't see the road ahead, just make sure God is still in sight!!

In His time, in His time,
He makes all things beautful in His time.
Lord, please show me every day,
As You're teaching me Your way,
That You do just what You say, in Your time.
In Your time, in Your time,
You make all things beautiful in Your time.
Lord, my life to You I bring.
May each song I have to sing
Be to You a lovely thing, in Your time.
