netted by the Net?

Just thought that it is really the ultimate when outings are announced or arranged through friendster, email groups or even tagboards.

If you don't happen to check those sites regularly, you are out of the fun. Of course, the consensus is that these places are and should be daily visited. Moreover, if the outing is a regular or big group one, for the sake of your monthly handphone bills, it is only common sense to make use of the easy accessibility to people on the Net.

Speaking of which, therefore it is agreed upon that SMS has been the tool for such outings for as long as we can remember. Ever reminisce about pre-SMS days when you had to make calls ('Hi, may I speak to ...?'/'Hi, is ... in?') for your outings to be a success? Or do you dread them now? Rejecting and being rejected or speaking to acquaintances certainly have never been this easy. Instant results rue the day.

If there's statistics given by Singtel, I would not be surprised if residential phone bills are on the decline as compared to pre-internet era (unless they are connected to the modem for internet usage). I am not saying that people don't communicate anymore. They do, they just don't talk as much as before. This should come like a consolation for me (as mentioned previously, I am shy; infer). Unfortunately, it doesn't.

My case for concern has transcended even the prevalent use of SMS (At least, there is still that personal touch, however minimal.) Akin to how people now preferred customized goods to mass production, i guessed it's the same thing here.

Perhaps one day I will just switched off my hp and be permanently offline. If you want (or should I say need) to reach me, try my house. Too bad if you don't know my number! Then again, the 'Too bad!' might very well be for me.

it's okay if you can't see the road ahead, just make sure God is still in sight!!

In His time, in His time,
He makes all things beautful in His time.
Lord, please show me every day,
As You're teaching me Your way,
That You do just what You say, in Your time.
In Your time, in Your time,
You make all things beautiful in Your time.
Lord, my life to You I bring.
May each song I have to sing
Be to You a lovely thing, in Your time.
