The Italian is a film about reality, compassion, and really about hope - pure, innocent hope. The english title is rather deceptive about the content but the chinese translation which is 寻找幸福的起点 will be a better description. Vanya (the adorable russian protagonist) yearns to find his mother even as he is going to be adopted by an italian couple. Amidst all the negative reactions and the obstacles faces, you will feel for Vanya and admire his strong yet naive desire to find his mother. Perhaps she has abandoned him, perhaps she has lost him, perhaps she has given him away.. whatever it is, he cares less as long as he can find her - his happiness. It is certainly better than a golden ticket to the luxurious and warm life in Italy.

*thumbs up*

Why bother with the transient stuff.. Have you 寻找your幸福的起点?

It makes me wonder why movies like Woodcock (a grade lower than slapstick comedies; yep it's really bad) can climb to No.1 at the Singapore's box office and films like The Italian generates lil publicity and audiences.

it's okay if you can't see the road ahead, just make sure God is still in sight!!

In His time, in His time,
He makes all things beautful in His time.
Lord, please show me every day,
As You're teaching me Your way,
That You do just what You say, in Your time.
In Your time, in Your time,
You make all things beautiful in Your time.
Lord, my life to You I bring.
May each song I have to sing
Be to You a lovely thing, in Your time.
