haha adapted from HY : "Mindless eating - eating when we're not hungry. We mainly eat out of emotion rather than physical hunger, take mindless snacks & multitask while eating. It is difficult to identify true hunger. "
Spectator eating
For many of us, a bucket of popcorn at the cinema or a bowl of tortilla chips on the coffee table during a televised Champions league football match are part of the viewing experience. Eating while engrossed in something else (for example reading a book, working on the computer or writing up an essay) is an easy way to eat much more than you intended. At the end credits of the movie or the end of the game it's easy to look down and see that the entire bucket of popcorn or bowl of chips has been eaten without you even noticing.
yesh! that's me. i tend to eat while watching..
Boredom eating
It's amazing how, with nothing else to do, our thoughts turn to food. With nothing better to do, we can find ourselves in the kitchen checking out the fridge or cupboards. But this form of eating has nothing to do with hunger and everything to do with keeping ourselves occupied.
yesh! that's me. sometimes (esp during exams) i'll just keep finding food whilst studying..
Special occasion eating and drinking
Most people pile up the plate on Christmas Day, after all it is a special occasion. But for some people, "special occasions" come round rather more often - for instance, every Saturday night in the pub, or every time Coronation Street is on TV, or every time they've "conquered" the ironing.
yesh! that's me. there's always some special occasion going on, right?
Comfort eating
After an awful day at work, or a massive quarrel with your partner, it can feel as though you really deserve some nice food, whether you are hungry or not. Unfortunately comfort eating can have completely the reverse effect to the one we were craving. We have something to eat to cheer ourselves up, but we then remember that we shouldn't be eating and feel even worse than before, possibly driving us to eat even more.
yesh! that's me. if u're not happie & u know it, eat eat eat..
Treat eating
Everyone has foods that they really, really love. These are foods that we just can't resist if they are offered round in the office or appear on a restaurant menu. The sheer pleasure of eating these foods overrides our lack of hunger. For example, how much less hungry to do you need to be to eat icecream than to eat cabbage?
yesh! tat's me. well, they are my favs afterall..

sometimes, i keep eating endlessly but not because the food is nice.. just tat subconsciously i feel tat i'll refrain from thinking by eating or it is the only thing i know/certain of..
